According to witnesses, 30-year-old Bryon Monge of Everett was headed northbound on I-5 just before 5:30 p.m. One witness, las vegas hilton hotel who claims to have set her cruise control at 62 mph at the time, said she saw Monge passing her at a much higher rate of speed on the shoulder. las vegas hilton hotel She said he attempted to regain control of his truck, but the vehicle kept drifting down the shoulder and onto the grass before he struck a concrete pillar of the 185th Avenue overpass.
The witness claimed that while the sky was gray, the roadway was relatively dry at the time of the crash. The woman got out of her vehicle after seeing Monge crash into the pillar, and she and another witness broke the passenger side window in an attempt to get him out of the vehicle. She would later find out from troopers that Monge was dead at the scene.
While there is a lot left to be learned about the factors leading up to this tragic motor vehicle accident on I-5 , it would appear that the man was traveling too fast for conditions and lost control of his vehicle.
