UPDATE: I begin flying Delta for some of my travel las vegas club hotel casino starting this month (July). Will miss seeing many of my AA crewmembers, but I want to see why so many AA customers are trying out Delta. I will keep everyone updated.
Living in Miami, I never thought for a minute that I would ever consider choosing another airline to fly besides American Airlines; Miami s largest carrier. My motivation to consider a jump to another airline has come after years of being an AAdvantage Platinum member even while I was an employee for the airline . Until recently, I ve never considered defecting as it would mean leaving the people at American that truly are the reason why AA was once referred to as Something Special in the Air .
While I worked for American, I did not use my employee stand-by passes for travel related to my website as that would have conflicted with the airlines pass travel policy. I began purchasing my tickets and enjoyed the security of knowing that I would have a seat so much that I actually didn t mind paying. I experienced excellent service on American and made sure to do whatever I had to in order to maintain my elite AAdvantage status.
Since I was terminated from American Airlines, I ve continued to fly them but I ve experienced a string of occurrences while traveling that would make anyone suspicious. Could American s management really be working to make my travels as inconvenient as possible? Could they also be refusing to compensate me as they would normally any passenger in hopes that I ll  become so disgusted I ll stop flying American. I would not put it past them.
My luggage was lost  by American Airlines and returned to me at my hotel in Portland 2 days late and the night before I was to return to Miami. I had to appear on Good Day Oregon wearing the same clothes I traveled in the day before! I still looked las vegas club hotel casino good:)

My luggage was lost again by American Airlines not even one month later. This time, they found my luggage and sent it back to Miami while I was still in Madison, Wisconsin. I spent quite some time on the phone with them to finally get my bag the day before my departure from Madison to New York on Delta.

Welcome to the world of the regular passenger. United lost my luggage once for 9 days. My trip was over and I was home for 5 days before it arrived. Even with Skymiles redeeming miles with delta is harder than with AAdvantage miles, and besides even with gold status on Skymiles unfortunately, I had lost twice my luggage never returned and even lost our first class reservation to San Juan with my mother because we didn t meet the criteria. las vegas club hotel casino A call to customer service to Amex Platinum refunded me the ticket and redeem the miles on American on the spot and went on my business.
With American I haven t had problems, and about the lawsuit I think the could resolve itself out, with something. A little diplomacy goes a long way to resolving problems and for those thinking that American is behind well yes but they had waken up to reality.
I d stick with AA because of the MIA hub and the AAdvantage program. Connecting through ATL gets old fast, and SkyPesos have been devalued so badly they now are worse than having nothing (higher fares when logged in to SkyMiles on delta.com). Good luck with the court cAAse.
I don t know Gailen. Why put up with the harrassment from AA? I don t think these things are coincidental. I would rather do two legs to my destination than wondering if you will have another incident with American. If Delta treats you like crap, then come back to AA. But for now, I think they have it out for you. Let the dust settle before giving las vegas club hotel casino AA anymore las vegas club hotel casino of your money.
Start racking up the miles with Delta as a backup when convenient. Identify your luggage w/ aaluminum. Can t help but think the employees at AA are on YOUR side and might take extra care of your items.
