MASTER BEDROOM Tufted Gray Bedframe : World Market Striped Sheets and Yellow Quilt : West Elm White

Meet Jamie, a design lead at Electronic Arts with an eye for art and a knack for crafts. In just over a year she's managed to transform a cozy two-story tract home into a place with a lively east Austin personality. A good mix of southern-hospitality-meets-modern-bohemian, it's the type of place where you'll be offered a glass of red wine with your blackberry waffle. Come on in and relax.
While you were sleeping, Jamie was turning her place into something she can be proud of. Her list of updates includes refinishing cabinets, installing bathroom countertops, and creating asia hotel travel com a beautiful white-washed wood wall in her bedroom a wall that Jamie says involved nailing wood fencing asia hotel travel com from Home Depot onto studs before applying several coats of white-wash to get the look she wanted. Jamie's obviously not afraid of taking on a DIY challenge (or two) to realize her vision for a space that's old yet new, clean yet rustic.
Her sense of style and resourcefulness is demonstrated perfectly by her simple asia hotel travel com take on a reading nook realized by simply lying a precisely cut plank of knotty asia hotel travel com wood onto a pair of cinderblocks. Tastefully arranged lights and art invite you to sit down and read one of the many design books (some from her days at SCAD) stored underneath.
Jamie doesn't believe in furnishing a room (or home) from simply asia hotel travel com one source. She puts her vision together piece-by-piece often times with one-of-a-kind items from antique shows, estate sales, and thrift stores. The feature wall in the living room painted a deep grey and filled with an organic asia hotel travel com arrangement of pictures is a perfect example of how dramatic this approach can be.
The framed art (most inset in IKEA frames) ranges from the austere to the funny. If a Jackalopes-in-love taxidermy mount fails to elicit a laugh, her quick-to-strike-a-pose Boston Terrier (named Penelope) will surely succeed. Penelope, along with chihuahua Peter, snuck into as many interior shots as they could seeming to confirm just how much they love the cozy and comfortable space Jamie has created. After touring this space yourself, I think it'll be easy for you to see why.
Biggest Challenge: My house is a production built home that I got an incredible deal on one of my biggest challenges has been, naturally, making the house feel personal and unique. ; What Friends asia hotel travel com Say: I'm not really sure, but probably something along the lines of me being the only person they know who can incorporate asia hotel travel com stuffed jackalopes into their décor and get away with it

BEAUTIFUL HOME! This is almost EXACTLY how I want mine to look... get out of my head!! My mother does the same thing; something old, something new... and I've grown to love that. I can't wait to get settled down and do the same thing. Thank you for showing your home.
loooove those dogs! omg picture 18 made me laugh out loud!!! that look!!! I love your house. one of my goals in life right now -apart from raising a happy and well balanced kid- is to have a clean and tidy house. looking at all these beautiful and super clean houses makes me strong to keep on track -I have a looooong way to go .........-.
Lovely home! I think you've done a wonderful job de-tracting it! Your "wood wall" is so coo! I also love to see a sectional on a house tour. Yes - people asia hotel travel com own sectionals! And they can be cute! (I clearly own one). I think my favorite thing is your guest bed. Wowza! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing!! You've done a wonderful job of making the house your own. And I LOVE the Whitney Lejeune asia hotel travel com painting!! After I saw yours I went to her website and now I'm a huge fan. What dimensions is the one you have? I'm on a mission to own one and the size of yours looks great!
Lovely home. Feels very detailed but not cluttered. Just right. Also kudos for such a lovely guest room. Mine has morphed into a closet. What are the floors on the main level. Concrete? asia hotel travel com Is it the subfloor or poured concrete? Great touch. And your four legged roommates are adorable!
Oh Jamie, how awesome! I definitely agree with the "detailed but not cluttered" comment. I love how your house overall is very neutral, but you have pops of color in your accessories so everything seems very calm but not at all boring. I want your bethroom kilim pillow and skull over the bed, and maybe a dog.... please!?
Wonderful bright asia hotel travel com cheery home. I wouldn't change a thing ! Love that sunny kitchen and the dogs are adorable. You've done a great job de-tracting, it looks very homey and real. The textiles are very nice. lots of eyecatching touches.
I've been in Jamie's home and the photos are gorgeous and really capture the incredible design sense she has. Her design is always an inspiration for me and my own home. The selection of pieces are carefully chosen and mean a lot to her.
What a sweet house! I love the minimalist look but the colors and textures really make it feel warm and cozy. The doggie with the different colored eyes (heterochromia?) is adorable and the picture with the kissing pooches is so cute. I really liked the pictures of Jamie being herself in the house - cooking, putting on her earrings, holding asia hotel travel com her dog. It really gives you a sense of who the person is, which makes the experience of seeing how they decorated their home even better. asia hotel travel com Wonderful pictures by the photographer!
I would recommend buying cedar fencing, asia hotel travel com cutting the tops off, and creating a pattern (lay it out on the ground first after youve calculated the pieces you need). I used roofing nails and used a stud finder to make sure I was hammering directly into the studs. Then I did a few coats of whitewashing - basically just take your white paint and dilute it a bit with water. Then use a sponge or rag to wipe it on. The wood will start to soak up the water, so you will need to let it dry and then apply another coat or two.
You win. Not only is your home a perfect balance between asia hotel travel com form and function, design and livability, it seems to translate to (or be inspired by?) your personal style. Love your clothes and your hair. You basically live a magazine life 24/7. Too cute!
Great home you have there. I kid you not, my living room in my old place used to look eerily similar. I like all of the quirky touches. I also like the wall color in the guest room. I've been looking for a color like that. Do you remember what brand and color? asia hotel travel com If so, do you mind sharing, please? :)
