Considering how the Cubs took over Miller broken music tour sting Park in a 4 game sweep of the Brewers and the proximity from Milwaukee to Chicago it was more like a Cubs home game than an Astros home game. Why couldnt the games have been moved to San Franscisco? The Giants were at Sand Diego. No it isn t any closer to Houston than Milwaukee is to Chicago broken music tour sting but it would have neutralized the Cubs fans and ti would have been more like a Houston home game.
Doesn t anyone pay attention? it wouldn t have mattered if it was played in SF, Seattle, AZ .. anywhere Cubs fans are everywhere would have came out in droves to see the game. when Miller Park was used last year for the Angels v Indians snow games . tix were $10. tix for this series were Brewers premium prices .. the Astros sold out took that money. had it been anywhere else they would have charged the $10 more fans would have went.
San Francisco is not in the division and the league wanted the games played in a stadium within that division. Any other stadium in the division would have been closer to Chicago than Houston so there would still be complaints even though it had no impact on the results. Some people act like the Astros have never had to travel before.
MLB wanted to originally have the games played starting Friday in St Louis. The Astros owner said no, he wanted the games to be played in Houston since they were sell outs and would cost him alot of money in refunds. The Cubs offered broken music tour sting to play the games at Wrigley to guarantee sell out and would give the Astros the gate receipts for their income, again refused by the Astros owner..though I don t blame him.
The games then had to be resheduled to a DOME stadium so weather broken music tour sting wouldn broken music tour sting t be an issue, Minn was the first choice, but they had Football games scheduled there both Saturday and Sunday. The next two choices were Milwaukee or Toronto. For travel purposes, and financial reasons, Milwaukee was chosen, case close.
A neutral site would have been St. Louis. Milwaukee made it a home game for the Cubs. Only 90 miles from Chicago. I don t know that the site would have made much difference in the final standings. The Cubs are going to win the NL Central and the Astros will not be the wild card even if they had won those two games.
Technically, because it s neither teams home field. However, geographically, it did give the Cubs an Advantage. More fans could attend, and they play well there. I guess they can t get anymore technically about it w/ out delaying the playing of the game.
