The White Sox and Cubs will renew Chicago's crosstown rivalry tonight at U.S. Cellular Field.  The White Sox will start 25 year old right hander Zach Stewart in his first start of the season.  Stewart started eight games for the White Sox in 2011 but has pitched exclusively out of the bullpen this season.  The Cubs will counter with the much talked about Matt Garza.  Despite his 2-5 record Garza has pitched well this season and could be dealt prior to the trade deadline as the Cubs seek to kick-start their rebuilding plan.  The Cubs come into the series with baseball's town country travel magazine worst record at 22-44.  The White Sox, who sit atop the American League Central at 35-31, figure to be in the market for another starting pitcher.  Monday's tilt could be an audition for Garza in front of the Southside brass.
The Cubs will start lefty Travis Wood against the resurgent Jake Peavy in game two of the series.  Wood is 0-3 since joining the rotation in mid-May.  The 31 year old Peavy is 6-2 with a 2.91 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 13 starts for the White Sox.  Peavy had battled injuries since joining the White Sox in 2009.
Gavin Floyd and Ryan Dempster town country travel magazine will face off in Wednesday's series town country travel magazine finale.  Dempster, like Garza, will likely be dealt before the trade deadline and could be auditioning for a potential suitor.  Dempster has had a terrific town country travel magazine season for the Cubs.  The veteran righty has posted a 2.11 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in 13 starts.  Floyd has struggled to a 4-7 record town country travel magazine with a 5.63 ERA for the White Sox.
The Cubs rely on production from Starlin Castro, town country travel magazine Alfonso Soriano, and Bryan LaHair to score runs.  Castro is having another stellar season at the plate.  The 22 year old shortstop is hitting .298 with 21 extra base hits and 16 steals.  LaHair has cooled since a hot start but he's still leading the Cubs in home runs (12) and OBP (.380).  Soriano has rebounded from an incredibly slow start to emerge as the Cubs' leading run producer.  The much maligned left fielder has slugged 12 homers and driven in 24 runs since May 15 th .
The White Sox offense is led by the steady Paul Konerko, who is having another terrific season at 36.  Konerko is currently hitting .359 with 12 home runs, 36 RBI, and a 1.025 OPS.  Adam Dunn has rebounded from a disastrous 2011 season to re-emerge as one of baseball's most feared sluggers.  Dunn leads the White Sox with 23 home runs and 52 RBI.  The club has also received some nice production from young outfielder Dayan Viciedo who has hit 12 home runs and knocked in 30.
