Anthony Rizzo apparently has decided not to cool off until the Cubs finally give in and bring him up

The Cubs took their first major steps towards los angeles county tax collector rebuilding with this week s MLB draft.  The club selected high school outfielder Albert Almora los angeles county tax collector with the sixth overall selection and then turned their attention to stocking the system with high quality arms.  The Cubs draft has generally been met with high praise.  The remainder of the minor league season will be interesting to watch as all of this new talent comes into the organization.
Anthony Rizzo apparently has decided not to cool off until the Cubs finally give in and bring him up to Wrigley.  Rizzo is still hammering Triple-A pitching to the tune of a 1.135 OPS.  The resurgence of Alfonso Soriano may have cooled the team to the idea of bringing Rizzo up just yet.  It may take a trade of Bryan LaHair to a contender in need of a first baseman or DH to get Rizzo to Wrigley prior to September.
los angeles county tax collector Brett Jackson has rebounded after slumping badly for a few weeks.  He has his average up to .261 on the year and has posted an impressive .493 slugging percentage.  Jackson has seven home runs, eight triples and twelve doubles on the season.  His contact rate remains a concern as he has struck los angeles county tax collector out 75 times in 211 at bats.
The real Junior Lake may be standing up.  After getting off to a hot start Lake has cooled off considerably.  His OPS has dropped to .774 and he has now struck out 29 times in 27 games for Tennessee.
Outfielder Matt Szczur continues to score runs at an alarming clip for the Daytona Cubs.  Szczur has scored 43 runs in 48 games and boasts a .359 OBP.  Szczur lacks power as evidenced by his .374 slugging percentage los angeles county tax collector but he has stolen 19 bases in 26 attempts.
Second baseman Ronald Torreyes has struggled for Daytona.  The Cubs acquired Torreyes from the Reds during the offseason as part of the Sean Marshall trade.  Torreyes hit .356 in 67 games for Dayton of the Midwest League in 2011.  He s hitting just .202 with one home run and 12 RBI in 48 games for Daytona.  Torreyes is just 19 years old and it wouldn t be shocking if he were demoted to Peoria to finish the season.
Javier Baez has been about as good as advertised in his first nine games with Peoria.  Baez, the Cubs top pick  in the 2011 draft, is hitting .343 with two home runs and six RBI in 35 at bats for the Chiefs.  Baez currently sports a 1.010 OPS in a very small sample size.
Starting pitcher Michael Jensen has a been a bright spot for the Chiefs los angeles county tax collector this season.  The 21 year old right-hander was selected by the Cubs in the 26th round of last year s draft.  He s currently 5-2 with a 2.51 ERA in 11 starts for Peoria.
