COLORADO SPRINGS, CO—  Kids on Bikes, a Colorado Springs-based nonprofit with a mission to inspire and empower kids and families to lead healthy, active and happy lives through biking will host a family focused community festival on August 26 from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM at America los angeles rent cars the Beautiful Park. The third annual premier family bike event will continue the excitement from USA ProCycling los angeles rent cars Challenge Stage 5 Finish in Colorado Springs. The Kids on Bikes Festival and Adventure Duathlon will allow children and their families to take part in the exhilaration of the pro race while inspiring children to be active, have fun and enjoy biking.
Do you remember your first bike and the joy and freedom that it gave you? Imagine never having a bike growing up. The reality is there are many children in our local community who are never afforded the opportunity a bike provides. The Festival is a fundraiser for Kids on Bikes in involving local families to support the organization's mission.  In addition to a number of family biking events, including a weekly Sunday Family los angeles rent cars Ride, Kids on Bikes gives elementary school aged children the opportunity to earn their very own bike in an after school setting.
The Kids on Bikes Festival and Adventure Duathlon will include lots of fun family adventures including water gun freeze tag, bike decoration, bike bracelet art, tug of war, hoola hoop contest, and bean bag toss.  In addition to the silly fun there will be a bike safety rodeo to assure children have the education and necessary tools to stay safe on their bikes.  Kids will have the opportunity to test their bike handling skills through various safety courses.  Helmets fittings will be provided by Penrose Hospital and the Think First Program and El Paso County 911 will bring their interactive safety van which simulates los angeles rent cars what to do in case of fire or other life threatening situation.
At 12:30 PM, the Adventure Duathlon will kick off with a bike parade so that kids can showcase their decorated bikes.   The first ever Adventure los angeles rent cars Duathlon will start at 1:00 PM with three different categories for kids of all ages, including the push bike crew!   The Duathlon will leave from America the Beautiful Park where kids will jump on their bikes and, depending on their category, either pedal to Monument Valley los angeles rent cars Park or Goose Gossage Park where they will participate in a crazy fun-filled obstacle course.  For the little kids, a course will be set up inside America the Beautiful Park.  All categories have a grand finish on the slip-n-slide!  To help keep the kids further engaged throughout the day, there will be bounce houses and nutritional activities, including a bike powered smoothie maker.
With the Julie Penrose Fountain and mountain backdrop, this will be a beautiful los angeles rent cars day of adventure los angeles rent cars for the whole family.  Cost for the Kids on Bike Festival and Adventure Duathlon is $15 per child or $55 per family, which includes all access to the Festival Zone as well as the Duathlon.  Or, Festival passes can be purchased for $10 each, which does not include the Duathlon.  Registration is available the day of the event.  For more information, visit  www.kidsonbikes.net .
All proceeds from the event will support Kids on Bikes in providing children the chance to earn their own bicycle and enjoy the benefits of a bicycle to local children in need. Kids on Bikes was founded by Paige Carmichael of Carmichael Training Systems in 2005.
