Welcome to Hangzhou! Hangzhou is a beautiful city located in Zhejiang Province in Eastern China. It has enjoyed a mostly prosperous history and is famous for its West Lake and low mountain scenery. The Chinese have a saying: Shang you tiantang, xia you Suhang . Roughly translated this means above there is heaven, on earth there is Suzhou and Hangzhou. What this means is that ancient Chinese considered Suzhou (famous for its gardens) and Hangzhou to be two of the most beautiful places in China.
