On Friday, Norwood Police caught up with a suspect in a hotel robbery. The suspect pointed a gun at a clerk, hopped over a counter and got a binder full of customers' credit card information. Investigators say that 19 year-old Jalen Burroughs is the man that robbed the hotel. They say he has been hiding out and changed his appearance. He was found in Hartwell. Only Local 12 was there when police arrested Burroughs Friday. Burroughs told Local 12 that circumstances in his life led to the crime. I'm going through a lot of stuff in my life right now and I just felt like I needed to find a way to get some money, take care of myself, he said. He also said he plans to pay the money back that he stole and turn in the credit card information to police. Poor thing. I feel so sorry for him. Circumstances made him do it. What a nut job. There are plenty of people out there who could use some money but they aren't stealing from folks, putting a gun in their face. If he needed a little money for the hour why not sell the gun you used to stick in someone's face. You're a low down person. Why don't you just get a job. There are plenty available - may not pay you a fortune, but you could live on it.
I have mixed emotions here. Robbery wasn't a good choice - and I'm angry that he chose this option.
