Just a stay-at-home mommy living life on the edge...of town. Happily married to her college sweethea

After a mere 10 hours in the car with our munchkin, we were able to make it safely and happily to Woodland Park, Colorado - just outside Colorado Springs but up in the mountains a little more. Our goal for this trip was just relax and spend time together as a family without common cruise ship grand princess distractions like the XBOX, Netflix, the computer, blogs, etc. Throwing ourselves smack dab in the middle of nature seemed the best way to do it!
We hiked at Helen Hunt Falls , Garden of the Gods , and Waldo Canyon - it was so incredible to be in the middle of God's creation, marveling at His handiwork! Of course, there was the added challenge of trying not to fall off the side of a mountain...drop my camera...drop my toddler...but y'know. Motherhood is never easy!
I was super excited to visit the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo with my babe. My earliest childhood memory is the lion exhibit there (we went there a lot when I was a toddler my family lived near Vail), so I really hoped to get a picture of Katherine at this particular spot. Sadly, she was in the middle of a tantrum and not feeling very photo-friendly...so you get giraffes, instead!
Sounds and looks like an awesome family cruise ship grand princess vacation (despite a couple of breakdowns!). I haven t been to that area of Colorado but would love to visit some day. I just love the state of Colorado. It s such a beautiful state!
Ohhh, Colorado Springs is pretty cruise ship grand princess much my favorite place EVER! Everything there is wonderful. And seriously, renting a house for a vacation is the BEST way to do it. We ve done that our last two trips and I m officially a big fan. So glad you had a great trip! It looks like everyone had fun!
