We are VERY early in the planning stages of our trip for June of 2013. I am reading all of the trip reports and posts that I can find so that I don't ask too many redundant questions. Here is what we would like and I can't figure out how it would be easiest to manage the travel. I want to book air fare when I can find a good deal and I need some idea of which way were are going. , We have been to the other areas of Italy - I thought I should add that before someone tells me to just stay in Italy. Anyway, we would like to go to Rome (3-5 nights) and Venice (3-4 nights) and then a week to 10 days in Provence, France. paris river cruises We are flying from the Southeastern coast of the US and we are trying to figure out how to get from point to point and back home. Any suggestions? I was thinking fly to Rome, train to Venice, "train??" to Provence" and fly home from......???? Any advice is appreciated!
From Venice, travel to Rome by train. Then fly to Nice and go to your French destinations. You may be able to find a flight out of Nice, but if not, a fast train up to Paris CDG airport is likely to be your best bet.
I have found Expedia very helpful in sorting out that same kind of itinerary - except I will be flying into either Nice or Milan and home from Stuttgart. Delta does have a direct flight to/from Nice from JFK. With Expedia you can do a "multi-destination" search for a flight. Good luck - sounds like a wonderful trip!
I think I actually suggested train to Paris, not to see Paris, but for one possible easy train - plane connection. This was my thinking. If they were in Avignon, drive time is 2 1/2 hours to Nice and I didn't know flight availability from there. Train from Avignon to CDC is also about 2 1/2 hours, to terminal 2, I think. Now I see there are direct flights from Nice to JFK, but if that did not work out, the train to CDC is an option.
Ira, I am sorry that I did not use correct grammar with my first post. I am usually in a hurry when I post and I am always worried that there will be "someone" paris river cruises who wants to point all errors out. Thank you for the corrections and I really paris river cruises do appreciate all of the advice I have been given!
paris river cruises Ira, I just read the post again and I think I have just had a long day with 7th graders paris river cruises in the science lab. I think I may have overreacted....sorry. Please ignore the post above. Thanks for your help!
