I have my husband s parents coming into town and they want to see the Grand Canyon and they want to do it by bus. Anyone got any suggestions? They ll be staying reviews on cruises at Bellagio so they need to leave from The Strip.
no shortage of bus tours to the Grand Canyon. Just keep in mind that if you are going just for the day, the bus will be leaving very early in the AM and won t be back in Vegas until late evening. This makes for a very tiring day so be prepared. You will only have about 4 hours at the canyon reviews on cruises to tour around on your own. For some, this might be enough. For others, it will be a tease. Another problem with the buses is that you will not be at the canyon at its best time which is at sunrise and an hour before sunset reviews on cruises when the low sun casts beautiful shadows on the rocks which adds depth to the canyon. In the middle of the day, the canyon can look very pale and drab. There are several viewpoint along the rim of the canyon and a few hiking trails that take you down into the canyon. The bus may not give you enough time to do all these things so ask when it leaves Vegas, how long it takes to get there, how long you will be at the canyon, and what time you will be leaving the canyon, and when will you get back to Vegas.
The Grand Canyon is such a beatuiful place. I wish your parents could spend more time there and really enjoy it. Many of the bus trips go to the Grand Canyon West Rim. This is a tourist trap that is operated by the Indian Reservation. It is closer to Vegas but the views are not a spectacular. Grand Canyon National Park is the best place to see Grand Canyon. The drive is a little further, but worth it. The best time to see the Canyon it at dawn or dusk.
Hey Cindy, yeah, bus tours to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas are indeed plentiful. FYI Bus tours go to either the South Rim or the West Rim. The South Rim is 277 miles from LV and takes 5.5 hours to reach. The West Rim is 120 miles away and takes 2.5 hours. Both pretty much require a full day to enjoy.
Go to the South Rim for scenery. Many people say this part of the canyon is the real canyon. Most pictures, including ones your folks have probably seen are from this rim. Most bus tours give you up to 3 hours in the park. Lunch is usually included.
The West Rim is where you go for thrills ad adventure. It s the only place where you can take a helicopter to the bottom, and it s pretty easy to upgrade that to include a boat ride down the Colorado River. There s also the Grand Canyon Skywalk (lets you walk 70 ft. past the edge!).
