The post holder will characterise the current and projected future economic costs (healthcare utilisation, formal and informal care, medication use) of health care associated with cardiovascular risk and cardiovascular disease (CVD) in Ireland using the TILDA dataset. A health technology assessment (costbenefit analysis) focussed on to be determined interventions car enterprise rental sales that reduce rates of under-diagnosis, inappropriate medication use (over-treatment, under-treatment, generic vs. proprietary medications) and AF screening tools will be performed.
The team investigator will apply economic and implementation science principles to rapidly translate policy relevant findings in the cardiovascular domain into policy and practice in the light of current and future austerity measures.

The team investigator will get advanced training in epidemiology, panel data analysis and longitudinal studies.
